About Us
Spiral Designs is a small web design firm operating since January 2006 in Melbourne, Australia. The company was started by Pamela Ueckerman with an idea to bridge the gap between the creative and technical aspects of creating websites as well as focus on usability and accessibility.
Since its inception, Spiral Designs has won two gold medals from the Australian Webdesigners Network and a silver award from Astral Awards. Our client list includes Internet start-ups, businesses in the hospitality, retail, IT service and entertainment industries, and not-for-profit organisations; this includes such companies as Sensis, Eclipse (Deloitte) and Feedcorp (creators of gnoos.com.au)
Pamela Ueckerman
After graduating from RMIT with a degree in Computer Science and Advanced Certificate in Management Skills, Pamela become a software consultant specialising in writing Java for web-based applications. During her years at Cambridge Technology Partners, and later on Thoughtworks, she worked with some of the best technical, creative and cognitive minds in the industry for such clients as Sensis, Telstra, Suncorp/GIO, ANZ and Nationale Nederlanden. Her passion for usability and design, technical skill, and aptitude for managing people led her into various technical lead, mentoring, and front-end specialist roles including nearly 2 years as a contractor in Amsterdam.
Late in 2005, Pamela decided to launch Spiral Designs and has since grown it into a successful, sustainable business. She is now in demand as a freelance web specialist as well as for the services of the business.
